On November 6, 7 & 8, 2008 police motorcycle officers and motor medics will converge on Daytona Beach, Florida to compete in the second annual “Battle at the Beach”™. The “ Battle at the Beach” will be hosted by the Daytona Beach Police Department Traffic Unit, and will be held at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona with motor officers from all over the southeast battling it out for top prizes & cash. There will be awards for the top riders and teams in each of the three divisions.

There is no admission charge for spectators and there will be food, vendors, raffle drawing, challenge ride, and fun for everyone. Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona is hosting this event. They will have a live band following the Awards and Raffle presentations.
The purpose of the event is to provide motorcycle officers with a training environment to advance their skill of motorcycle operation, and further their knowledge of these operations from different agencies from across the southeast. This event is limited to the first 100 riders that register.
The police motorcycle officers and motor medics will be required to maneuver their motorcycle through a series of cone patterns and obstacles to show proficiency and skill of operation.
While there will be awards for the top riders in each division - Harley-Davidson, BMW.
The “Battle at the Beach” will also serve as a fundraiser for Halifax Hospital Foundation for Speediatrics, 501(c) 3. All donations and sponsorships for the rodeo will benefit the Foundation. A small portion will be funds raised will be used by the Daytona Beach Police Officers Association to cover the cost of the event.
Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona, which is just a few miles north of Daytona Beach, will be an excellent location for such an event. It is centrally located to make it easy for agencies to send units from all over the southeast. The central location also makes it perfect for motorcycle riders to make a "run" and come see the officers compete for the” Battle at the Beach”.
Motor officers from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, and all the sponsors who are contributing are providing additional support to our Charity and Event.
